Milestones

Thank you for your support which means we have now completed many of the Neighbourhood Plan development milestones. We now need your input on the current draft Plan so that we can make required revisions and then submit it to North Somerset Council, an Independent Planning Inspector and finally for a local Referendum.

    North Somerset Council approved the request for our Neighbourhood Plan area to be defined as the Portishead Settlement Boundary

    A survey to find out the top issues for Portishead residents and businesses. Results fed into the next stage of the Plan process

    Research and data gathering of detailed topics such as our heritage, Local Businesses, Green space, Community facilities. Commissioned work by experts such as the Centre for Sustainable Energy and AECOM which carried out a Portishead Housing Needs assessment. (With interruptions caused by COVID!)

  • North Somerset Council (NSC) assessment

    The plan is publicised by our local planning authority for a 6-week period. NSC will also notify anyone referred to in the consultation statement that the plan has been received. Any representations received will be passed to the independent examiner for consideration

  • Independent Examination

    The Neighbourhood Plan will be reviewed by an Independent Planning inspector.

  • Referendum
